Conquest-To take control of a country.

English got a big part of its vocabulary from Norman language which is like an olden type of french vocabulary.

Making similar words in different languages bring across the same meaning.

William the conqueror, conquered England and Anglo Saxons making Latin a minor influence, this made different words have similar roots to them.
