The average number of prescriptions written by Dr. Jones on a daily basis is 12. The assistant thought that he number was 17. What us the percent error between the actual amount and the estimate by the assistant?

    Error=ApproximateValue-ExactValue

    Error=17-12

    Error=5

    Now lets solve for the percent error

    PercentError = (Error/ExactValue) * 100

    PercentError = (5/12) * 100

    PercentError=0.41666666*100

    PercentError=41.67%
