Michael is designing a new home for a customer. the floor of Room B is in the shape of a regular hexagon and will have a perimeter of 72 feet. The floor of Room A is in the shape of a square and will be sharing a wall with Room B as shown. How many square feet of carpet will Michael need to cover the floor of Room A?

    Room A will take 144 square feet of carpet because because the perimeter of room b is 72 and is in the shape of a hexagon. Since room A will be sharing 1/6 of the wall of room A (12 feet), so 12 feet will equal one side of the room and to find the area of a square you need to multiply one sides length/width by itself in this case 12x12 which equals 144 square feet
