A subway car passes 3 stations every 10 minutes. At this rate, how many stations will it pass in one hour?

    3/10 = x/60 ... 3 stations to 10 min = x stations to 60 min

    cross multiply

    10x = 180

    x = 18 ... so that 18 stations in 1 hr
