A tablet package from provider x is based on a monthly fee of $60 plus $0.05 per minute of internet use. Provider y charges $45 each month for their data package, plus $0.15 per minute of internet use. At what number of minutes of internet use will the monthly fees be the same for the two providers?

    The monthly charges became equal when:

    60+0.05x=45+0.15x

    where x the number of minutes.

    60-45=0.15x - 0.05x

    15=x (0.15-0.05)

    x=15/0.1 = 150 minutes
