How does changing the horizontal position of the ball affect its potential energy?

    Potential Energy is the energy associated with the object (having some mass) due to its position or state. It is a function of height and is dependent on datum i. e. it is measured relative to another body.

    For example, if we change the body horizontally without changing its height then Potential energy associated with it is zero because there is no change in height.
